1. Is the Center like a country club?

No. Although everyone is welcome, many people have limited incomes. Last year 49% of the people who used Center transportation services had incomes under $10,000 per year

2. Do people live at Hyde Park Center?

No, Hyde Park Center is not a senior housing facility but a community center for older adults living in their own homes.

3. Can the Center help me find other services I need?

Yes. The social worker is well-informed about other available services such as housing, personal care, homemaking, and mental health services. She will guide you through the process of obtaining needed services.

4. Does the Hyde Park Center van cover all of Greater Cincinnati?

Generally, our medical transportation covers the area within the I-275 loop, with I-75 as the western boundary.

5. What is the cost for meals?

The suggested contribution is $4.00 per meal for people 60 and older. If you are unable to pay the suggested amount, pay what you can. A box is available for your private contribution. There is a separate charge of 25 cents for coffee or tea.

6. What is the fee for programs?

Most programs do not have a fee. Others have a nominal fee to cover costs. Some programs are discounted for members.

7. Are reservations required for meals?

We ask that you call at least by 9 am, so we have an accurate count for preparing the meal. In some cases we have to take a waiting list if there are more people than expected, so it’s best to call as soon as you know you want to come. Reservations may be made up to a month in advance. Cancellations are also appreciated, so we can open up your spot to someone else. Call 513-321-6816.

8. When are programs held?

The monthly calendar shows the day and time for each program. Programs requiring reservations are announced in the newsletter. Call 513-321-6816 to make reservations.

9. Do I need to be a member to come to the Center?

Membership is not required except for a few members-only programs offered as membership incentives. Membership is a way to show your support of Hyde Park Center.
